Basketball Game Preview: Greater Vision Academy Lions vs. Woodland Baptist Christian Eagles

The Greater Vision Academy Lions just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Woodland Baptist Christian Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Greater Vision Academy turned things around against Mount Calvary Christian on Monday. They really took it to the Warriors for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-14 win. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 39 points or more this season.

Greater Vision Academy relied on the efforts of Coyrick Cheek Jr, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 10 points and five steals, and Bradun Rogers, who went 6-for-11 en route to 13 points. Ari Love was another key player, putting up eight points.

Greater Vision Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Woodland Baptist Christian strolled past Vandalia Christian with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 58-39. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Greater Vision Academy's record is now 4-6. As for Woodland Baptist Christian, their record now sits at 12-1.

Greater Vision Academy came up short against Woodland Baptist Christian in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, falling 57-51. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
