Baseball Game Preview: O'Connell Boilermakers vs. Burton Pumas

O'Connell hasn't had much luck against Burton recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 3:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

O'Connell is headed into Wednesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game dating back to last season back in March. They came up short against Wallenberg, falling 14-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Boilermakers have suffered against the Bulldogs since April 27, 2017.

Meanwhile, while it was Burton who put the first runs on the board last Friday, it was KIPP King who put up more. The Pumas fell 24-19 to the Lions.

Elijah Alferez led a balanced group of hitters, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Isaac Bautista, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances.
