After a string of six wins, DSST: Conservatory Green's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of The Vanguard School Coursers. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Coursers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 19-25, 25-16, 25-12.

Litzahaya Arcanjo-Rodriguez paced DSST: Conservatory Green's offense, picking up six kills. Arcanjo-Rodriguez got some help from Mia Martin and her eight assists. Andrea Griffiths controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

The Vanguard School found their leader in sophomore Laila Czarniawski, who had ten digs. Czarniawski is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played. Player #14 also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

DSST: Conservatory Green's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for The Vanguard School, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

DSST: Conservatory Green has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Northfield on the 22nd. As for The Vanguard School, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Florence on the 21st.
