Basketball Recap: Harvest Prep Academy Falls Despite Big Games from KJ Legette and Sebastian Castro

Harvest Prep Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 42-25 bruising from the Gila Bend Gila Monsters. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagle this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-38 last Friday.

Harvest Prep Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Sebastian Castro and KJ Legette. Castro posted two points in addition to nine rebounds, three steals, and three blocks, while Legette dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards. Legette is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last 16 games he's played dating back to last season.

Harvest Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Gila Bend, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-8 record this season.

Harvest Prep Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against South Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Ridge will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Harvest Prep Academy surely won't give up without a fight. Gila Bend has already played their next contest (against Ajo), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
