While it always takes a team to win, one person punching above their weight class on Thursday was Pierson Hozza. She wasn't messing around, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over 4.2 innings pitched. The pitching appearance was her seventh straight with six or more strikeouts.

Looking ahead, Hozza and Horizon will head out to square off against Chaparral at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hozza has dominated as far as strikeouts are concerned (she's averaged 5.8 per game this season), but she's got her work cut out for her considering the Firebirds have only allowed 4.08 per game this season.
