Baseball Recap: Bishop O'Dowd Takes a Loss

On Saturday, the Bishop O'Dowd Dragons came up short against the Rodriguez Mustangs and fell 11-7. The Dragons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bishop O'Dowd got a good showing from Benjie Sharman, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, Sharman gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Rashad Hayes stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Garrison, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Bishop O'Dowd now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Rodriguez, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Bishop O'Dowd didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-3 victory against El Cerrito on the 5th. As for Rodriguez, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 10-5 win against Justin-Siena on the 8th.
