Basketball Game Preview: Eastern Guilford Wildcats vs. Ben L. Smith Golden Eagles

The Eastern Guilford Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Ben L. Smith Golden Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, Eastern Guilford got the win against Southern Guilford by a conclusive 56-36. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Meanwhile, Ben L. Smith entered their tilt with High Point Central on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 71-30 win over the Bison. The Golden Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

Ben L. Smith's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points over those games. As for Eastern Guilford, their win bumped their record up to 10-12.

Eastern Guilford suffered a grim 57-37 defeat to Ben L. Smith in their previous meeting back in January. Can Eastern Guilford avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
