Football Recap: Plainfield Piles Up the Points Against Manville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Plainfield). They took their game on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 39-0 win over the Manville Mustangs. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Cardinals just coasted through the last quarter.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Plainfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Na'Dirah Evans, who threw for 75 yards and three TDs, and also punched in one score on the ground. Jazlynn Robinson helped Evans out on the ground, rushing for 60 yards and one touchdown.

Plainfield didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Bria Ray and Aniyah Rogers.

Plainfield has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.0 points on average over those games. As for Manville, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Plainfield is set to take on their familiar foe South Hunterdon at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Manville will square off against rival Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
