While Jasper's victory against Lead Hill wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pirates sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 win over the Tigers on Thursday. The victory was nothing new for the Pirates as they're now sitting on five straight.

Blake Williams made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Max Davis was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Malijah Campbell also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
