Mattaniah Cook turned in yet another pitching appearance with more than six strikeouts on Thursday. He produced his best game of the campaign: he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). He has become a key player for Woodside: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise.

Coming up, Cook and Woodside will host Grassfield at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
