Baseball Recap: Newport Takes a Loss

Newport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 61st straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 10-0 to the Bellevue Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 18-1 loss back in April.

Newport's defeat dropped their record down to 0-36. As for Bellevue, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-15.

Looking ahead, Newport will head out on the road to take on Robertson County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats are facing the Black Devils at the right time seeing as the Black Devils are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Bellevue, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lloyd Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
