League recap: Schulze breaks off league-leading run for Boone County

Boone County's Jesse Schulze recorded the longest rushing play in 6A District 6 this season in his game against Dixie Heights last week. Schulze ran for 53 yards on the play and finished with 158 on the day as his team bested the Colonels.

Simon Kenton extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Ryle, 20-0. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.

Boone County's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Blake Ingolia threw for 82 and one touchdown and Jeremiah Williams had 56 yards receiving. Ingolia helped Boone County's passing attack out by catching one ball for 42 yards.

Simon Kenton's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Pioneers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Brenan Kuntz has thrown for 1054 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Grant Wassom has 21 catches for 268 yards. Andrew Sampson leads the league in rushing with 505 yards.

A big matchup in 6A District 6 this week will be when Simon Kenton takes on Campbell County. At the moment, Jeff Marksberry's team is in first, while the Camels are in third.

The Raiders made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,160 from 2,549. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 20-0 victory over Ryle last week.
