Baseball Game Preview: Elder Panthers vs. Archbishop Moeller Fighting Crusaders

Elder is 2-8 against Archbishop Moeller since April of 2023 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Panthers will look to defend their home field against the Fighting Crusaders at 5:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Elder is headed into the contest having just posted their closest win since May 15, 2025 on Saturday. They skirted past Oak Hills 7-5. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Highlanders: they've now won eight in a row.

Kyle Bien was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those hits marked the first that he has got this season. Another player making a difference was Justin Massa, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, on Thursday Archbishop Moeller's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against North Bullitt. Those two runs were actually the fewest the Fighting Crusaders have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Archbishop Moeller's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Elder, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Elder skirted past Archbishop Moeller 2-0 in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Fighting Crusaders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
