Softball Recap: Fluvanna County Flying Flucos vs. Monticello Mustangs
Fluvanna County dropped their record down to 13-6 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monticello Mustangs. The shutout was out of character for the Flying Flucos seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in April.
As for Monticello, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games.
For Monticello's part, Fluvanna County's batters probably weren't too happy with Madison Steppe, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 12 Ks (she gave up two walks). Steppe has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.
