Recap: North Putnam Cougars vs. Northview Knights
The North Putnam Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 52-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Northview. North Putnam lost against Northview in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 68-64 score last time.
Northview found their leader in underclassman Brayden Goff, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. The game was Goff's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Fowler, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
North Putnam now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Northview, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-3.
North Putnam won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Indian Creek at 7:30 p.m. on December 16th. Indian Creek will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. Northview will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Parke Heritage at 2:30 p.m. on December 26th.
