Basketball Recap: Shyla Pipkin Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Ash Fork

Red Mesa won the last time they faced Ash Fork and things went their way on Saturday too. The Red Mesa Redskins secured a 49-43 W over the Ash Fork Spartans. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Redskins.

Red Mesa's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shyla Pipkin, who posted 13 points along with five boards and three steals. Pipkin is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Ashley Jones was another key player, going 5 of 11 on her way to 14 points and seven rebounds.

Red Mesa's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Ash Fork, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.

Red Mesa wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 52-37 victory against Gilbert Classical Academy on the 28th. As for Ash Fork, they will welcome Joseph City at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Joseph City is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.1 points per game this season.
