Basketball Game Preview: Union City Indians vs. Centerville Bulldogs

Union City hasn't had much luck against Centerville recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Union City Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Centerville Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m.

Union City is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Saturday. They took a 53-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mississinawa Valley.

Meanwhile, Centerville came tearing into Friday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 points), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 72-51 margin over the Wildcats. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while the Wildcats are ranked 265th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Centerville's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points over those games. As for Union City, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.

Union City suffered a grim 76-53 defeat to Centerville in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Centerville's Shea Hollendonner, who went 13-for-17 to rack up 31 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
