Champlain Valley Union was the 58-43 winner over Mt. Mansfield when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Champlain Valley Union Redhawks were just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 49-48 to the Mt. Mansfield Cougars. The Redhawks' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Champlain Valley Union's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2. As for Mt. Mansfield, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Champlain Valley Union will face off against Rice Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rice Memorial knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Champlain Valley Union likes a good challenge.
