Baseball Recap: Four Straight Home Victories for Badin

Badin won against Archbishop Hoban last Saturday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Rams beat the Roger Bacon Spartans by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 13-1. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won six in a row.

Brooks Treadway looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Badin let James Brink and Chandler Taylor run wild. Brink went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Taylor went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave Taylor a new career-high. Austin Vangen was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Badin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.2 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 10.8.

Badin's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.2 runs. As for Roger Bacon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Badin will square off against Carroll at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Roger Bacon, they will challenge Cincinnati Country Day at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
