Basketball Recap: Gramercy Christian Victorious

Bethel Christian Academy came into Friday's matchup looking for another win against Gramercy Christian, but Mimi Johnson wouldn't allow it. Everything went the Gramercy Christian Warriors' way against the Bethel Christian Academy Trojans on Friday as the Gramercy Christian Warriors made off with a 54-29 win thanks in part to Johnson, who went 7 of 12 on her way to 15 points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (three).

Another player making a difference was Kinley Butler, who posted seven points in addition to six boards and five steals. She is becoming a predictor of Gramercy Christian's success: when she posts at least five steals the team is 5-2 (and 1-3 when she doesn't).

Gramercy Christian now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Bethel Christian Academy, their defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8.
