Basketball Recap: Windsor Locks Starts Season with Victory Against Libertas Academy Charter

Windsor Locks gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They secured an 82-78 W over the Libertas Academy Charter Lions. The Raiders pushed the score to 65-45 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lions cut but never quite recovered from.

Windsor Locks' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Grasso, who went 10 for 18 on his way to 26 points and three steals. Those 26 points gave Grasso a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sincere Monroe, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards.

Windsor Locks will welcome Suffield at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Libertas Academy Charter, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cheney Tech at 6:45 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
