Softball Game Preview: Ardrey Kell Knights vs. Charlotte Catholic Cougars

Ardrey Kell is 2-8 against Charlotte Catholic since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Ardrey Kell Knights will welcome the Charlotte Catholic Cougars at 5:30 p.m. Ardrey Kell is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

Ardrey Kell fell victim to Cuthbertson and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Cavaliers, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Knights' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Ardrey Kell saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jenna Volturno, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Even though they lost, Ardrey Kell hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. This was only their first loss (out of three games) when they post two or more strikeouts.

Meanwhile, Charlotte Catholic beat Providence Day 6-3 on Wednesday. The Cougars have beaten the Chargers the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Chargers has come to flipping the script.
