Basketball Game Preview: Rockwall Yellowjackets vs. Sachse Mustangs

The Rockwall Yellowjackets will venture away from home to challenge the Sachse Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Rockwall was able to grind out a solid win over North Forney, taking the game 39-26. Given the Yellowjackets' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Falcons are ranked 340th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Sachse came tearing into Tuesday's game with 12 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.1 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down the Eagles 55-36.

Sachse has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 22 of their last 23 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 29-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Rockwall, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 22-12.

Rockwall and Sachse were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in February of 2021, but Rockwall came up empty-handed after a 45-44 defeat. Can Rockwall avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
