St. Petersburg Catholic triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Elise Graham

Recap: St. Petersburg Catholic Barons vs. Indian Rocks Christian Eagles

The St. Petersburg Catholic Barons won the last time they faced the Indian Rocks Christian Eagles, and things went their way on Friday too. St. Petersburg Catholic walked away with a 39-27 victory over Indian Rocks Christian.

Elise Graham was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with nine steals and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Naomi Thompson, who scored 11 points along with three steals and three blocks.

Indian Rocks Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malia Stevens, who scored nine points.

St. Petersburg Catholic's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8. As for Indian Rocks Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

St. Petersburg Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hollins at 12:45 p.m. on January 13th. Hopefully Hollins focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Saturday. As for Indian Rocks Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Seminole at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Seminole is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
