Acalanes can bid farewell to their four-match losing streak thanks to their match on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Clayton Valley Charter Eagles 3-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in March.

Acalanes had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 12-25, 26-28, 25-22, 25-16, 15-11.

Acalanes now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Clayton Valley Charter, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Acalanes is set to challenge their familiar foe Las Lomas at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Clayton Valley Charter will face off against rival Campolindo at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
