Basketball Recap: Winnebago Takes a Loss

Winnebago lost against Norfolk Catholic back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. 2025 welcomed the Winnebago Indians with a 63-41 loss courtesy of the Norfolk Catholic Knights. The game marked the Indians' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Gavin Schutt was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds for Norfolk Catholic. Another player making a difference was Aiden Corr, who went 7 of 11 en route to 14 points.

Winnebago has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Norfolk Catholic, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Winnebago will take on Winside at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th. As for Norfolk Catholic, they will venture away from home to take on Wayne at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th.
