Softball Game Preview: Stony Point Tigers vs. Round Rock Westwood Warriors

The Stony Point Tigers will face off against the Round Rock Westwood Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Stony Point will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Stony Point took a 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Vista Ridge, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Stony Point came out on top in a nail-biter against Vista Ridge on Monday, sneaking past 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since February 14th.

Sophia Davis made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kali Winner, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Brianna Moreno, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Round Rock Westwood came into Monday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on McNeil with a sharp 11-1 win on Monday.

Stony Point's victory bumped their record up to 12-4-1. As for Round Rock Westwood, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.
