            Softball Preview: Kenai Central Kardinals vs. Ketchikan Kings        
        
		
        
        
            Kenai Central is 0-3 against Ketchikan since April of 2022 but things could change  on Saturday. The Kardinals will face off against the Kings at 9:30  a.m. Kenai Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8  runs per game  this season.
Kenai Central is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup  on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Kodiak, sneaking past  6-4. The  win was some much needed relief for the Kardinals as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
 Avery Ellis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned  (and three unearned) runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks.
 On the hitting side,  Kailey Stynsberg was  incredible,  going 3-for-4 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  double. The team also got some help courtesy of  Avia Miller, who  went 1-for-2 with three  stolen bases and one  run.
 Meanwhile, Ketchikan faced Delta in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Kings blew past the Huskies 14-2. The Kings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by six  runs or more this season.
 Ketchikan's victory bumped their record up to 16-18-2. As for Kenai Central, they now  have a winning record of 16-15.
 Kenai Central couldn't quite get it done against Ketchikan in their previous matchup  on Friday as they fell  14-9. Can the Kardinals avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
