Basketball Recap: Sierra Lutheran Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Sierra Lutheran won the last time they faced Silver Stage, and Kayla Carpenter did her part to make sure it happened again. The Sierra Lutheran Falcons came out on top against the Silver Stage Nighthawks by a score of 36-26 on Friday thanks in part to Carpenter, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 16 boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Several Nighthawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dakota Little, who posted nine points and five steals. Raven Smith was another key player, putting up six points and four steals.

With the win, Sierra Lutheran broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-10. As for Silver Stage, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-11.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing North Tahoe the next time they take the court. Silver Stage will host North Tahoe at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Sierra Lutheran will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
