Berne Union dropped their record down to 6-3 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Liberty Union Lions. The Rockets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2018.

As for Liberty Union, the win got them back to even at 5-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for they.

For Liberty Union's part, the result came thanks to Owen Thomas's shutout, as he gave up just two hits. Thomas also tossed no walks, which is notable because the Lions are 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-4 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cam Wood, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. Cole Thomas also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Looking ahead, Berne Union will host Logan at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Liberty Union, they will head out to face off against Fairfield Union at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
