Volleyball Recap: River View Beats Beaver Local for Their Third Straight Win

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but River View had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Beaver Local Beavers. The win was familiar territory for the Black Bears, who have now won three matches in a row.

River View got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 27-25, 25-16, 30-28.

Haley Balo paced River View's offense, picking up 27 kills. Balo got some help from Kelsie Smith and her 46 assists. Smith was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

When it comes to explaining why Beaver Local lost, don't look at Taylor Pease. Despite the final result, she had ten digs and six aces.

River View's victory bumped their record up to 21-4. As for Beaver Local, the defeat snapped their winning streak at seven matches and leaves them with a 22-3 record.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, River View and Meadowbrook will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Beaver Local does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
