Softball Recap: Northeast Comes Up Short

Northeast came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-2 to the East Lake Eagles. The defeat continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

Northeast saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Twinam, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Northeast's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for East Lake, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.

Northeast and East Lake should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Northeast (ranked 114th) will meet Hollins (ranked 307th) at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Northeast is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season. Similarly, East Lake will take on Boca Ciega at 6:00 p.m. on March 24th up 206 places (60 vs. 266).
