Loyola lost to Chaminade back in March of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Cubs came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 7-2. The game was the first time the Cubs have beaten the Eagles on their field since April 24, 2023.

Robbie Peppell made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February of 2024.

In other batting news, Loyola let Robert Rapp and Luca Marucci run wild. Rapp scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Marucci went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs Marucci has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of James Dell'Amico, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Loyola's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Chaminade, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Loyola will have a chance to go back-to-back against Chaminade: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
