Ledyard is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They walked away with an 11-6 victory over Woodstock Academy. The Colonels haven't had any issues with the Centaurs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Alexia Lemmon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Faith Dalton, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 11 contests. Julia Bonser was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Ledyard hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Guilford was not the first on the board on Monday, but they got there more often. They blew past Avon 20-6.
Sarah O'Brien made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Peton Lemay was incredible, going 4-for-6 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Katie Mull, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
Ledyard's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Guilford, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Ledyard suffered a grim 10-1 defeat to Guilford in their previous matchup back in May of 2023. Can the Colonels avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
