Basketball Recap: Pe Ell Comes Up Short

Pe Ell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost to the Taholah Chitwhins at home by a 50-34 margin. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 75-43 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in June of 2021.

Despite the loss, Pe Ell still got an impressive performance from Silas Edgar, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Nelson, who posted six points and three blocks.

Even though they lost, Pe Ell smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in nine consecutive games.

Jayden Lewis was his usual excellent self, putting up 31 points for Taholah. Lewis' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 20 points. Another player making a difference was Jade Charley, who scored seven points.

Pe Ell's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Taholah, their record now sits at 10-11.

Pe Ell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Taholah, they have already played their next match, a 69-60 defeat against Wahkiakum on the 19th.
