Volleyball Recap: Methuen Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Methuen waltzed into their contest on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Lincoln-Sudbury Warriors. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in April.

Methuen got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the third set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-16, 36-34.

Methuen's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shawn LaDuke, who had six digs and one block. LaDuke has been hot for a while, having also posted 18 or more assists the last 24 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Andrew Cox, who had 22 kills and six digs.

Methuen's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. As for Lincoln-Sudbury, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.

Methuen has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Lowell on the 19th. As for Lincoln-Sudbury, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against O'Bryant on the 19th.
