Basketball Recap: Milford Piles Up the Points Against Kopperl

Milford won the last time they faced Kopperl and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Milford Bulldogs breezed by the Kopperl Eagles to the tune of 51-17. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 31 points or more this season.

Milford's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cecily Hopson, who went 8 of 19 en route to 20 points. Those 20 points gave Hopson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaycee Rigsby, who went 7 for 15 on her way to 16 points.

Milford smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 13 consecutive games.

Milford pushed their record up to 21-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.6 points per game. As for Kopperl, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-20 record this season.

Coincidentally, Milford and Kopperl will both be playing Blum the next time they take the court. Kopperl will head out to face Blum at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while Milford will host them at 6:00 p.m. on February 4th.
