 Caldera entered their tilt with Mountain View with two consecutive wins  but they'll enter their next game with three. They had just enough and edged the Mountain View Cougars out  5-4. For Caldera, this counts as revenge for the   14-4 loss Mountain View walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in April of 2023.
  Brooklyn Chapin made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out nine batters over  seven innings while giving up  three earned  (and one unearned) runs off   six  hits. Chapin has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings every time she's  pitched this season. Chapin was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
 Chapin wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Elie Hall, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-3. Hall is crushing it when it comes to  stolen bases: she's   stolen at least one every time she's  taken the field this season.
 Like Caldera, Mountain View also got a great game from a two-way player:  Ashtyn Clark. She looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned  (and three unearned) runs off   seven  hits. Clark was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-4.
 Caldera's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Mountain View, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.
 Caldera will have a chance to go back-to-back against Mountain View: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday.
