Basketball Recap: Carvers Bay Snags 11th Victory in Last 13 Games

Carvers Bay extended their home winning streak to six games thanks to a huge performance from Kenard Heyward. The Carvers Bay Bears strolled past the Lake View Wild Gators with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 58-39 thanks in part to Heyward, who went 7 for 11 en route to 17 points and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last six games he's played.

Another player making a difference was Mekhi Bromell, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in steals (six).

Several Wild Gators players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jamere Barden, who posted ten points. Joshua Roundtree also deserves some recognition as he scored his first point of the season.

Carvers Bay has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points over those games. As for Lake View, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.
