Everything went their way against the San Miguel Vipers on Monday as Willcox made off with a 27-4 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cowboys considering their two-run performance the contest before.
Madison Bennett and Alyssa Gonzalez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Bennett tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Gonzalez tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave Bennett a new career-low. At the plate, Bennett went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI, while Gonzalez scored two runs while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs Gonzalez has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Jaqueline Ramirez was a standout: she scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Nataly Thompson, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
