Softball Game Preview: Hickory Grove Christian Lions vs. Monroe Redhawks

The Hickory Grove Christian Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Monroe Redhawks at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Hickory Grove Christian and nine for Monroe.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Lions on Monday. Hickory Grove Christian came up short against Covenant Day, falling 13-0. The match marked the first time this year in which Hickory Grove Christian was not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Monroe lost 16-1 to Queen's Grant on Monday. That's two games in a row now that the Redhawks have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Hickory Grove Christian now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Monroe, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Everything went Hickory Grove Christian's way against Monroe in their previous matchup back in February, as Hickory Grove Christian made off with a 17-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hickory Grove Christian since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
