Basketball Recap: Lee Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lee can now relate to. They took a 54-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Springfield Renaissance on Wednesday. The Wildcats have struggled against Springfield Renaissance recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meetings.

Springfield Renaissance found their leader in sophomore Zi'Yan Wallace, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 15 boards. Wallace's big performance that morning made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Sy'Nye Baker was another key player, putting up nine points and six steals.

Lee's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Springfield Renaissance, the win keeps them at an undefeated 26-0.

Lee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Springfield Renaissance, they will square off against Hoosac Valley at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday. Hoosac Valley will roll in looking for their 17th straight victory, something Springfield Renaissance surely won't give up without a fight.
