Softball Recap: Leon Falls Short of Chiles in the Playoffs

Leon and Chiles squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Leon had to settle for second. They lost 8-1 to the Timberwolves. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Timberwolves this season, with their most recent loss being a 14-0 defeat last Tuesday.

Leon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jailyn Nickeo, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Leon has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-10 record this season. As for Chiles, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-3.

Leon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chiles, they will welcome Fleming Island at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Timberwolves 2.4, the Golden Eagles 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
