Volleyball Recap: Bishop McCort Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Bishop McCort was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Somerset Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-23, 25-13.

When it comes to explaining why Bishop McCort lost, don't look at Emma Preuss. Despite the final result, she had 16 digs and two assists. Preuss has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last eight times she's played. Olivia Urban was another key player, getting four digs and one block.

Leading Somerset to victory were Elly Fletcher and Molly Stoy. Fletcher had eight digs and three aces, while Stoy had 12 assists and three digs. Those 12 assists gave Stoy a new career-high.

Bishop McCort's loss dropped their record down to 9-17-3. As for Somerset, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5-1 record this season.

Bishop McCort didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Chestnut Ridge on the 13th. As for Somerset, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Westmont Hilltop on the 13th.
