Baseball Recap: Christian School of York Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Christian School of York dropped their record down to 9-3 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Mount Calvary Christian Chargers by a score of 2-1. The matchup marked Christian School of York's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Austin Holbritter put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Holbritter was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

As for Mount Calvary Christian, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.4 runs over those games.

Like Christian School of York, Mount Calvary Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Josiah Masters. He pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Masters has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Masters wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Isaiah Butler, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base marked the first that Butler has snagged this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Christian School of York will host Lancaster County Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mount Calvary Christian, they will be playing at home against Annville-Cleona at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
