Volleyball Recap: Fortuna Takes a Loss

Fortuna was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Ferndale Wildcats. If the Huskies were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Fortuna started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-23, 25-17, 25-23.

Madilyn Roberts paced Fortuna's offense, picking up ten kills. Roberts got some help from Jaydyn Dalton and her 30 assists. Addie Collenberg and Evalynn Little kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with four aces apiece.

Fortuna's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Ferndale, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-12 record this season.

Fortuna will be playing at home against Arcata at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ferndale, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against South Fork on the 9th.
