Soccer Game Preview: Buena Vista vs. Colorado Springs Christian

Buena Vista is 1-7 against Colorado Springs Christian since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Demons will take on the Lions at 4:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Buena Vista is coming into the matchup fresh off a high-scoring shootout with St. Mary's that saw the pair combine for 22 shots on goal. The Demons blew past the Pirates 5-1 on Tuesday. Buena Vista might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by four goals or more this season.

They hit St. Mary's with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Evelyn Hachmann (3), Adeline Smith, and Eva Montgomery.

Meanwhile, Colorado Springs Christian kept a clean sheet against The Vanguard School on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Coursers. The win made it back-to-back victories for Colorado Springs Christian.

Buena Vista pushed their record up to 3-0-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Colorado Springs Christian, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Buena Vista beat Colorado Springs Christian by a goal in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 1-0. Will the Demons repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
