Basketball Game Preview: Hopewell Titans vs. Hough Huskies

Two dominant guards in MOLLY HOWE and Chloe Galombeck are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Hopewell Titans will be playing at home against the Hough Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopewell is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Hopewell is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against North Mecklenburg on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Hopewell was beaten by North Mecklenburg 94-19. The matchup marked the Titans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Hough on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Harding University out of the water with a 70-22 final score. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 24 points or more this season.

Hough has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Hopewell, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.

Hopewell took a serious blow against Hough in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 60-7. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Hough's Sophia Zoerb, who posted 25 points and six rebounds.
