Baseball Recap: Westside Takes a Loss

Westside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 6-1 to the Fountain Inn Fury. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Fury this season, with their most recent defeat being a 5-0 loss last Wednesday.

Westside got a good showing from Caleb Christian, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Christian has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Westside saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was MJ Lee, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Westside's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Fountain Inn, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.

Westside has already played their next game, a 9-3 victory against Palmetto on the 1st. As for Fountain Inn, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 15-0 win against Southside on the 2nd.
