Mason Sword posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Monday. He struck out seven batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. Mapleton is undefeated when Sword allows two or fewer earned runs, but 2-11 otherwise.

Sword's strong effort led Mapleton over Western Reserve and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mounties are 8-2 against the Roughriders going back to April of 2018, a lead they'll look to extend.
